National Day Of Prayer Testo

They say that I am a prayer unanswered.I said I haven't prayed in years.
They say that I had just never learned.
I said I didn't care.
They tell me God hears every thought.
Well than why can't I hear His?
If I am a prayer than God forgot.
That I would never come to Him with this.
This ugly body that doesn't fit.
Any of His ten commandments.
They say the world's a tape recorder.
That we just listen and repeat.
But I however beg to differ.
We do much less than that.
No one ever hears their own goddamn heartbeat.
No one ever duplicates their own fucking defeat.
So get down on your knees, close your eyes.
Speak to something that can't possibly be listening.
Oh He's there, yeah His presence never dies.
But no one's gonna guarantee a blessing.
For his disappointing demise.
But let's all pray for the forgiveness we don't deserve on this special holiday.
