Too many salesmen
Calling up on the phone
All them people telling him what to do
Maybe it started to rain and he had a hole in his shoe
He had all he could take; he couldnât carry the load

Maybe he was in a hurry and the car wasnât starting
Or he was trying to sleep
And the neighborâs dog kept barking
Was it the Chrysler he bought instead of the Chevy
That put him over the edge and things got heavy
Or too much month at the end of the money
He overheard his girlfriend calling her boss honey
Or maybe she told him
That their love had gone cold
He was feeling like he was being bought and sold

Somebody cut him off on the 101
Wouldâve been even worse if heâd had his gun
