On Saturday when I hopped out of bed,
A wonderful idea popped into my head.
The weather was warm and I was hungry for food,
So I'll have a picnic to suite my mood.
I quickly got dressed and combed my hair,
Then I ate breakfast which was a pear.
I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth,
And began to get ready because I was the chief.
I am going to have a picnic for lunch,
It is going to be fun because I have a hunch.
I'll bring all my foods in a big wicker basket,
And I'll keep my sandwich together with an elastic.
First I will make my humungous sandwich,
I'll make sure it doesn't fall in a land-ditch.
Then I packed my blanket and watermelon,
I looked out the window and waved to Helen.
I got my basket and jacket and I walked to the park,
And I spread out blanket near a tree with bark.
I took out my food assortment and started to eat,
There's nothing better than lettuce, tomato, and ham on wheat.

My sandwich was so delicious I offered some guy a bite,
He liked the sandwich too so he said, Mmm, you were right.
Next I took out the watermelon and I started to eat,
I gave some to the guy because it was very sweet.
After I finished eating I went down the slide,
But when I came to the end I fell off and almost died.
So then I lay down on my blanket and I took a nap,
And when I woke up I went home to feed the cat.
